
Patna, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary conducted an inspection of the Patna Metro Rail project on Sunday, emphasizing the goal to complete construction by 2028. During the visit, he instructed officials to build two foot overbridges on Nehru Path, one near JD Women’s College and the other close to the High Court roundabout and Bihar Museum.
Chaudhary reviewed ongoing construction at the Income Tax roundabout, High Court intersection, and near Hanuman Temple. He sought updates on the project’s progress and the current status of the construction work from the relevant officials.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of maintaining quality and safety standards throughout the metro project. He urged officials to minimize inconvenience to the public during construction and improve traffic management and accessibility.
He highlighted the necessity of ensuring citizen safety and ease of daily commuting around construction sites. The Chief Minister pointed out that while development is crucial, the convenience of the public must also be prioritized. He described the Patna Metro project as vital for the capital’s transport system and called for enhanced coordination among all departments and agencies involved to expedite the construction process. Regular monitoring and quality assurance of the construction work were also mandated.
Chaudhary made it clear that there should be no compromise on safety and public facilities while aiming for timely completion of the project. The proposed foot overbridges on Nehru Path are expected to facilitate pedestrian crossing.
Also present during the inspection were Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Cooperation Minister Ramkripal Yadav, and various senior officials, including Patna District Magistrate Kundan Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma.
