Mumbai : The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the new selection committee on Saturday. Former Indian fast bowler Chetan Sharma has been chosen as the chairman of the selection committee.
Apart from Chetan Sharma, the selection committee includes Shiv Sunder Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola and Sreedharan Sharath.
In an official statement, the BCCI said, The Cricket Advisory Committee consisting of Sulakshana Naik, Ashok Malhotra, and Jatin Paranjpe adopted a comprehensive process to select the members of the All India Senior Selection Committee (CAC). After the advertisement of five posts released on its official website on 18th November 2022, the board received around 600 applications. After due deliberation and careful consideration, the CAC shortlisted 11 persons for a personal interview. Based on the interview, the committee has recommended the names of Chetan Sharma, Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola and Sreedharan Sharath for the senior men’s national selection committee.
The statement further said, The committee has recommended Chetan Sharma for the role of chairman of the senior men’s selection committee.
