LIEUTENANT GENERAL RAKESH KAPOOR, GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING, KONARK CORPS VISITED NATIONAL SCOUTS AND GUIDES JAMBOREE AT ROHAT

Jaipur :  The 18th National Scouts and Guides Jamboree is being organised at Rohat, Pali Marawar near Jodhpur from 04 to 10 January 2023. Lieutenant General Rakesh Kapoor, General Officer Commanding Konark Corps attended the event as the Chief Guest on 07 January 2023.

On the occasion, the General Officer hoisted the National Scouts and Guides flag and addressed the budding young cadets. During his speech, he emphasised upon the role of youth towards nation building and appealed all cadets of the Bharat Scouts and Guides to contribute towards progress of the nation in various fields as worthy citizens.

The Konark Corps also conducted a ‘Know Your Army Mela’ wherein combat equipments and modern state-of-the-art electronic and surveillance equipments were put on display. This was inaugurated by Cadet Bhavya Pratap, the youngest Scout in the camp. The equipment display was aimed to educate young cadets about the Future Readiness of Indian Army besides motivating them to choose Indian Army as a career.

The cadets were elated with the opportunity to closely witness and understand about Army’s modern equipments. The audience was also made aware with the provisions of AGNIPATH entry scheme during the ‘Know Your Army Mela.

Bharat Scouts and Guides have been conducting the mega event called Jamboree every four years, however this event returned to Rajasthan after a long gap of 66 years. Approximately 33,000 young cadets are participating in this mega event.
