Barh to become new district of Bihar: Nitish

Patna, Mar 13 : Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday announced that Barh subdivision will become the new district of Bihar. During his visit to Barh, his old Lok Sabha constituency which he had represented five times previously, Kumar announced that the Barh subdivision would become a district in Bihar. He assured the people during his interaction with them that they should not feel worried as Barh would certainly become a new district of Bihar in days ahead. Kumar said that he was pleased to visit the area and interact with people from where he had won the Lok Sabha elections on five occasions. He expressed his gratitude towards the people for the support and blessings extended to him during his long political career. At present, there are 38 districts in Bihar. If a formal decision is taken to make Barh a district, it would be the 39th district of Bihar. Kumar had represented Barh’s seat in Lok Sabha on five occasions during the period from 1989 to 2004. During the delimitation in 2008, Barh lost its existence as a Lok Sabha seat. Kumar had not contested Assembly elections since he became Chief Minister in 2005. He has been a member of the Bihar Legislative Council, the upper House of state legislature. KKS RN
