Mumbai, April 10: Playback singer and Rajya Sabha MP Babul Supriyo recently shared insights on his new song remix while also commenting on the Bengal elections and the Women’s Reservation Bill.
He discussed the remixed songs featured in ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar-2’, stating that these tracks have always been iconic, which is why they are being remade today.
Regarding his latest release, ‘Intaha Ho Gayi 0.2’, Supriyo mentioned that the song is a remake from Amitabh Bachchan’s film ‘Sharaabi’. He acknowledged the use of AI in creating the remix and humorously apologized for it. He pointed out that remaking old songs in films is a trend, citing ‘Dhurandhar’ as an example where several iconic tracks were utilized, with efforts made to alter the voice using AI.
Supriyo expressed his desire to return to the music scene, explaining that this is why he chose not to participate in the Bengal elections this time. He believes he is at an age where he can focus on his first love—singing—and dedicate the coming years to it.
On the topic of the Bengal elections, he remarked that various strategies are being employed to secure victory. He noted that voters are being troubled through SIR, and the ruling government has altered the structure of the Election Commission, placing their own people in key positions. He emphasized that these individuals are operating beyond logic and ethics, and the people of Bengal will respond in the elections, ensuring a win for the Mamata government.
Regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill, Supriyo stated that he would share his thoughts on April 16, as discussions with opposition leaders have already taken place. He questioned the rationale behind increasing the number of seats during elections, especially with elections happening in Assam and upcoming in Bengal. He cautioned against such tactics, suggesting that if everyone tries to be a ‘Dhurandhar’, a sequel could emerge.
