Ayodhya Saints Express Outrage Over Iftar Party on Ganges

Ahmedabad, March 17: Saints from Ayodhya have voiced strong discontent regarding an Iftar party held on a boat in the Ganges River in Varanasi. Several saints criticized the event sharply, calling it disrespectful.

Mahant Raju Das of Hanuman Garhi in Ayodhya labeled the incident as tragic. He questioned, “Why would those who truly revere the cow engage in such acts? They profess deep faith in the cow, yet they slaughter it. Why is only cow meat displayed and discarded, while other meats are ignored? This seems like an attempt to hurt Hindu sentiments.”

He referenced a video showcasing another unfortunate incident in Varanasi, where a chicken party was held. “I urge strict action against such individuals,” he stated.

Raju Das emphasized, “We are not stopping anyone, but when you go there, identify as Hindus and respect the cow and sentiments.” He lamented the disrespect shown to Ganga Mata and Kashi in the country.

Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya, head of the Tapasvi Chhauni, echoed these sentiments, urging the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to take notice. “The Ganges is our sacred river. The presence of meat and Iftar parties in the Ganges has incited significant anger among Sanatanis. Such actions tarnish the atmosphere of the country. Those responsible should face punishment, or the situation may deteriorate.”
