August 16 Panchang: Worship of Lord Ganesha Promises Prosperity

New Delhi, August 15: The Panchang holds significant importance in Hinduism. Before undertaking any auspicious activities, travels, investments, or rituals, consulting the Panchang is essential. It is based on the positions of the sun, moon, and other celestial bodies.

On August 16, 2026 (Sunday), the fourth day of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Shravana will last until 4:52 PM. Following this, the Panchami Tithi will commence. Due to Vinayak Chaturthi on this day, worshiping Lord Ganesha will be particularly fruitful. The Nag Panchami Tithi will begin at 4:52 PM on Sunday.

Sunrise will occur at 6:07 AM, and sunset will be at 6:54 PM. The moon will rise at 9:21 AM and set at 9:16 PM. According to the Panchang, on August 16, 2026, the sun will be in the Ashlesha Nakshatra, while the moon will be in the Hasta Nakshatra.

There will be no Harshan Yoga on Sunday; however, the Hasta Nakshatra will remain until 4:08 AM the following day. The Abhijit Muhurat, considered the most auspicious time of the day, will be from 12:05 PM to 12:56 PM. The Amrit Kaal will occur from 9:43 PM to 11:21 PM.

Rahu Kaal will be from 5:19 PM to 6:54 PM, and Gulika Kaal will last from 3:43 PM to 5:19 PM. Additionally, Yamgand Kaal will be from 12:31 PM to 2:07 PM. Traditional beliefs suggest avoiding the initiation of new tasks during these times, as they are considered inauspicious.

On this day, the sun will be in the Cancer zodiac sign, while the moon will be in Virgo. There will be directional obstacles in the west. According to astrology and Vastu, it is advisable to avoid traveling in this direction. If travel is unavoidable, specific astrological remedies should be followed before departure.
