New Delhi, March 13: Audi has officially launched the RS3 Competition Limited, a special edition model celebrating the 50th anniversary of its legendary five-cylinder engine. This limited-run vehicle is capped at just 750 units globally, showcasing both cosmetic enhancements and mechanical upgrades.
The RS3 Competition Limited features model-specific suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, and unique interior detailing. It pays homage to the five-cylinder engine lineage that began with the second-generation Audi 100 in 1976.
The exterior boasts carbon-fiber elements, including mirror caps, side skirts, a rear spoiler, and diffuser trim. The front fascia is enhanced with additional aerodynamic canards and a revised front lip. Buyers can choose from three paint options: Daytona Grey, Glacier White matte, and Malachite Green, inspired by the historic Audi Sport quattro.
The lighting setup includes Matrix LED headlamps that illuminate in a sequence reflecting the firing order of the five-cylinder engine, adding a unique touch.
Under the hood, the RS3 Competition Limited is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine, generating 400 PS and 500 Nm of torque. This power is transmitted through Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 290 km/h. The special edition also features a recalibrated RS sport exhaust system that enhances the engine’s characteristic sound.
Significant changes have been made to the chassis setup, including model-specific coilover suspension with separate adjustments for rebound and compression. The ride height is lowered by 10 mm compared to the standard model, and owners can further tune the setup using provided tools. Enhanced handling dynamics are achieved with a stiffer rear anti-roll bar and higher rear spring rates, complemented by carbon-ceramic brakes on the front axle.
Inside, the RS3 Competition Limited features RS bucket seats with carbon backrests and Neodymium-gold detailing. The digital cluster showcases white-background gauges reminiscent of the Audi RS2 Avant. Each unit is marked with a numbered plaque on the center console, indicating its place within the limited production run.
In Germany, pricing for the RS3 Competition Limited starts at €100,680 (~ ₹1.07 crore) for the Sportback and €102,680 (~ ₹1.07 crore) for the sedan, significantly higher than the standard RS3, but offering a comprehensive list of standard equipment.
For enthusiasts and collectors, the Audi RS3 Competition Limited stands as a tribute to the brand’s rich heritage and engineering excellence.
