Armed Robbers Shoot Youth in Jharkhands Khunti District

Khunti, February 8: In a shocking incident in Khunti district, Jharkhand, armed robbers shot a young man during a robbery on the road. The event occurred in the Murhu police station area, where criminals had set up a blockade to rob passersby. When the victim attempted to flee, the assailants opened fire. The young man sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

According to police reports, the injured individual has been identified as Vishwanath Mahto, a resident of Gurmi village. On Sunday, he was returning home from a local fair when he encountered four armed robbers who were lying in wait on the road, planning to rob travelers and vehicles.

When the robbers tried to stop Vishwanath, he sensed the danger and accelerated his vehicle in an attempt to escape. In a desperate move, the criminals fired at him from behind, hitting him in the thigh with a bullet that passed through.

Despite being shot, Vishwanath managed to reach a safe location. With the help of local residents and family members, he was quickly taken to Khunti Sadar Hospital. Hospital sources report that his condition is currently stable. After receiving initial treatment, he is under medical supervision.

Upon receiving news of the incident, the Murhu police sprang into action. They arrived at the scene to investigate and have registered a case against unidentified criminals based on the victim’s statement. Multiple police teams are conducting raids at potential hideouts to identify and apprehend the assailants.

The incident has created an atmosphere of fear in the area. Police have assured the public that the criminals will be apprehended soon and have increased patrols in the region.
