Armed Attack at Private School in Muzaffarpur Sparks Fear and Demands Ransom

Muzaffarpur, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : In a shocking incident in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, armed assailants targeted a private school early Sunday morning, firing nearly two dozen rounds of bullets. The masked gunmen arrived on a motorcycle and unleashed a barrage of gunfire at the school’s main entrance, instilling fear in the local community.

Following the shooting, the attackers brandished their weapons and fled the scene. This brazen act occurred in the Kanthi police jurisdiction. Before the firing, the criminals affixed a threatening note to the school gate, demanding a ransom of ₹50 lakh. The note warned of severe consequences if their demands were not met.

Witnesses reported a tense atmosphere in the area after the incident. Two masked individuals on a motorcycle approached the school, posted the ransom note, and then began shooting. The sound of gunfire sent nearby residents into a panic.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries from the incident. Shortly after receiving the news, local police, led by SDPO Suchitra Kumari, arrived at the scene to investigate. They discovered several shell casings on the ground and noted bullet marks on the school’s boundary wall and main gate. Authorities are gathering information from residents regarding the incident.

Law enforcement has initiated a review of CCTV footage from cameras installed around the school. The footage shows two young men wearing helmets on a motorcycle. After executing the attack, they escaped on the same bike. Police are also examining footage from other cameras along potential escape routes. SDPO Suchitra Kumari stated that a thorough investigation is underway, encompassing not only the ransom demand but also any possible land disputes related to the school.

Authorities are working diligently to identify the suspects and have expressed confidence in making arrests soon. They are also probing the motives behind the attack and the identities of those behind the ransom demand. The incident has heightened concerns about security among school management and local residents.
