New Delhi, April 13: Andhra Pradesh’s Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh met with President Droupadi Murmu on Monday, alongside NDA MPs from the state, to express gratitude for the legal recognition of Amaravati as the permanent capital.
Minister Nara Lokesh took to the social media platform ‘X’ to share that meeting President Murmu was an honor. He conveyed appreciation on behalf of millions in Andhra Pradesh for the approval of the bill declaring Amaravati the state capital.
Telugu Desam Party General Secretary Nara Lokesh noted that President Murmu praised the extraordinary patience and sacrifices of farmers, as well as the strong leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, which helped resolve the long-standing uncertainty regarding the state capital.
Lokesh mentioned, “I had the honor of presenting her (President Droupadi Murmu) with a coffee table book showcasing the journey of Amaravati and the inspiring story of our farmers’ struggles.”
According to the official X account of the President’s House, a delegation from Andhra Pradesh, including Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupatiraju Srinivasa Varma, Minister Nara Lokesh, and state MPs from both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, met with President Murmu at the President’s House.
