New Delhi, July 15: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated a total of 63 development projects worth ₹155.36 crores in Chamoli on Wednesday. This event took place at the police ground in Gopeshwar as part of the ‘Service, Good Governance, and Dedication’ initiative under the program ‘Government for the People, at the Doorstep of the People.’
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 36 projects costing ₹113.99 crores and inaugurated 27 projects valued at ₹41.37 crores. He emphasized that the state government’s goal is to ensure that the benefits of development reach even the most remote individuals.
Continuous efforts are being made to strengthen infrastructure in areas such as roads, bridges, education, health, irrigation, flood protection, animal husbandry, tourism, and basic facilities. Dhami noted that Chamoli is of great religious, cultural, and strategic significance, and the government is committed to expanding development and public amenities in the region.
Among the projects inaugurated, the foundation stone was laid for a steel truss bridge at Jugju on the Joshimath-Niti road, costing ₹4.34 crores. Other significant projects include a 78-meter iron bridge on the Langsi-Dwing-Tapovan-Lanji-Pokhni motor road at ₹9.62 crores, and the reconstruction of the Mehalchori-Silangna Ghaniyali motor road for ₹85.24 lakhs.
Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated 27 projects worth ₹41.37 crores, including interlocking tiles on the Gairsain main road for ₹1.42 crores, and the upgradation of the Kulsari-Gairwar motor road for ₹9.32 crores. These initiatives are expected to enhance transportation, health, education, sports, tourism, fisheries, and basic infrastructure in the district.
The event was attended by Bharat Singh Chaudhary, the minister in charge of Chamoli, along with other dignitaries. CM Dhami remarked on the historical turnout of thousands during the roadshow in Gopeshwar, symbolizing the unwavering trust and affection of the people of the state.
