Andhra Pradesh Central University Announces Recruitment for 60 Assistant Professors

Amaravati, May 25: A significant opportunity has emerged for youth aspiring to work in a government university. The Andhra Pradesh Central University (CUAP) has issued an official notification for the recruitment of 60 Assistant Professors on a temporary basis for the academic year 2026-27. This recruitment is aimed at retired teachers and guest faculty across various departments.

The 60 vacancies include 3 positions in Economics, 8 in Psychology, 4 in Political Science, 10 in Computer Science and AI, 5 in English, 9 in Management, 3 in Professional Studies (RMIT), 2 in Commerce, 1 in Telugu, 3 in Mathematics and Computing, 2 in Molecular Biology, 2 in Genomic Sciences, 2 in Computational Social Sciences, 2 in Geography and Geoinformatics, 2 in Space Science and Technology, and 2 in Chemistry. Among these, 27 positions are unreserved (UR), 8 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 4 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 16 for Other Backward Classes (OBC), and 5 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).

The online application process began on May 22 and will close on June 7. Eligible candidates interested in applying can submit their registration forms on the university’s official portal before the deadline.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject with at least 55% marks (or equivalent) from a recognized institution or university. They should also have qualified NET/SLAT/SET or possess a Ph.D., as required by UGC regulations of 2009/2016.

The maximum age limit for applicants is set at 65 years, calculated as of the application deadline. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.

Selection of eligible candidates will be based on shortlisting, interviews, and document verification. The selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹75,000, along with other benefits and allowances.

While filling out the application form, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee based on their category, which is set at ₹1,000 for General/OBC applicants. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Disabled/Women candidates are exempt from the registration fee. The Andhra Pradesh Central University will soon announce the interview dates and locations.
