Mumbai, May 18: Actress Amisha Patel is known for her candid opinions on various issues, and recently she took a strong stance against the trolling culture prevalent on social media. She expressed her disappointment, stating that Indian actors face harsher criticism from their own people compared to Hollywood stars, which she finds deeply saddening and shameful.
In a post on the social media platform X, Amisha highlighted a troubling shift in Indian mentality, where negativity towards others has become commonplace. She specifically pointed out the criticism surrounding celebrities’ appearances and outfits at major events, labeling it as “sad” and “shameful.” She wrote, “In India, actors are trolled more harshly by their own people than Hollywood stars, which is very unfortunate.”
This isn’t the first time Amisha has voiced her opinions. She has previously made headlines for discussing the PR game among actors. Recently, while speaking to paparazzi in Mumbai, she reiterated her stance, saying, “I stand by what I said. Nowadays, everyone thinks they are number one.”
Amisha also took a jab at younger actors who have yet to deliver a film that crosses the 200 crore mark, accusing them of paying PR teams to promote themselves as top stars. She asserted, “Only call yourself a superstar if you have done something that makes history. Stop playing PR games. This is the bitter truth.”
She emphasized that an actor becomes a global superstar only by delivering major hit films worldwide. Amisha referenced her own achievements, stating, “I have delivered three of the biggest solo blockbusters, including ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai,’ ‘Gadar 1,’ and ‘Gadar 2.’ Even today, these are the biggest hits for my co-stars. However, my PR machinery is not fake, which is why it is weak.”
