Chandigarh, March 16: Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring launched a sharp critique of the Bhagwant Mann government on Monday. He accused leaders who previously advocated for government schools of now enrolling their children in private institutions. He directly questioned Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators on this issue.
Warring stated that the choice of school for one’s children is a personal decision for any parent, and no one should interfere. Each family makes this decision with their children’s future in mind. However, he reminded that before coming to power, AAP leaders often posed the same question to opposition figures: if government schools are so good, why don’t their children attend them?
He pointed out that the situation appears different now. A recent investigation revealed that only one AAP legislator’s child is currently enrolled in a government school in Punjab. Warring raised the question that if the government claims its schools have become ‘model schools,’ why aren’t more AAP leaders sending their children there?
He emphasized that the people of Punjab are not questioning anyone’s personal choices. Instead, they want to know if the promises and claims made earlier are genuinely being fulfilled.
Warring concluded that when a party raises an issue vigorously before elections but fails to follow through after gaining power, it is natural for the public to have questions. This is why the people of Punjab are now demanding answers from the government.
