New Delhi, March 15 : BJP MP Sushil Modi on Tuesday alleged that some state governments are not allowing investigation into more than 100 cases of bank frauds amounting to Rs 50,000 crore. Raising the matter in Zero Hour, Modi said: “Only in one city, Mumbai, more than Rs 13,000 crore of bank fraud cases are pending for more than one year and the state government is not giving consent to the CBI to investigate the cases.” The cases are of cheating and misappropriation of funds, Modi said. Giving out statistics, the BJP member said that five cases amounting to Rs 3,664 crore, recommended by Yes Bank alone, have been pending for one and a half years. This came after the Lok Sabha was informed on Monday that bank frauds in the country above Rs 1 lakh were highest in Kotak Mahindra Bank at 642 cases, ICICI Bank at 518 cases and 377 cases at IndusInd Bank. This was followed by 235 cases at Axis Bank, 159 at State Bank of India and 151 at HDFC Bank. ASU MR
