Allegations of Public Identification of Minor Victim in Jamui Case Prompt Action Against CMO Stenographer
A complaint has been filed against a CMO stenographer for allegedly sharing the identity of a minor victim involved in a harassment case in Jamui.

Jamui, September 25 (Daily Kiran) : Authorities in Jamui are facing calls for action after the identity of a minor girl, who was allegedly harassed, was shared on social media. The complaint has been directed against Sagar Prasad, a stenographer at the Chief Minister‘s Office.
On September 19, an incident of harassment, inappropriate behavior, pushing, and assault involving the girl and her companion occurred in Jamui. Following the event, a video went viral on social media, prompting legal measures to be taken.
According to a complaint filed on September 25 by Assistant Sub-Inspector Amita Kumari at the Secretariat police station, it was reported that images of the victim and her family were uploaded on the platform X. This post quickly spread to other social media platforms, raising serious concerns about the privacy and dignity of those involved.
The complaint emphasized that the viral post could potentially reveal the victim’s identity, violating the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. The application also stated that during the verification process, the relationship between the uploaded photo and Sagar Prasad was established.
Given the seriousness of the situation, the complaint seeks action not only against Prasad but also against others who shared or further disseminated the post. The request includes filing a First Information Report under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, 2023, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
