Mumbai, Mar 15 : Dr Sawar Dhanania, president of All India Rubber Industries Association, on Tuesday demanded that government should give more incentives to rubber industry so that it can be ‘aatma nirbhar’ (self-reliant). In a statement issued here after the meeting of Managing Committee, he said out of one lakh crore, 70,000 crore is tyre sector and the rest 30,000 is non-tyre industry, which is facing issues in the supply of products due to non-availability of raw materials. The situation is alarming due unpredicted catastrophic events in the country, it was stated. In this situation, the MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises), the core of rubber industry, will get a boost if the government helps in reducing duties on export and also helps to commence production of eva and neoprene rubber, Dhanania added and demanded for reducing the limit of production-linked incentives to MSMEs.
