Mumbai, April 10: AIMIM leader Waris Pathan has stated that the upcoming elections in West Bengal are a battle between two sides of the same coin: the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC). He emphasized that their party is contesting the elections with full strength.
Pathan mentioned that AIMIM is collaborating with Humayun Kabir’s party for the elections. The party has announced candidates for approximately 15-16 seats. AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi has visited Bengal and actively campaigned there. He noted the significant turnout at their rallies, indicating strong public interest.
“We are confident that the affection shown by the people will translate into votes. AIMIM will achieve success in Bengal,” Pathan asserted. Regarding the election results, he stated, “The results will be out on the fourth; we will see then. What’s the point of sounding the bugle too early?”
On the ongoing bulldozer actions in various areas, he criticized them as entirely unconstitutional. “The Supreme Court has also declared these actions unconstitutional. You cannot demolish someone’s home without following the law. The country will run on the Constitution and the law, not on bulldozers,” he added.
In response to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks about the people of Gujarat, Pathan commented on April 8, “Kharge is a senior and seasoned politician. His statement reflects his party’s stance. After facing backlash, BJP members protested at his office, and now he has retracted his statement. What more can I say about that?”
