New Delhi – Artificial Intelligence is advancing at a staggering pace, reshaping the world of work and life in ways many are only beginning to understand. While its growth poses serious challenges to job stability, it also opens up unprecedented opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship, says Nitin Seth, Co-founder and CEO of Incedo Inc, a digital, data, and AI services company.

In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Seth offered sharp insights into the growing influence of AI, drawing from his real-world experience implementing AI solutions for some of North America’s largest firms. He also delves deeper into this transformative trend in his book Human Edge in the AI Age, published by Penguin.
According to Seth, AI is no longer limited to automating repetitive or transactional tasks—it is now encroaching on areas once thought to be the exclusive domain of human intelligence, such as complex decision-making and emotional interpretation. “With its expanding capabilities and continual learning, AI will surpass human performance in cognitive and emotional domains too,” he noted.
This shift is expected to trigger massive changes in employment, especially in knowledge-driven roles. “In the next 15 years, it’s estimated that 35–50% of current jobs could disappear, with knowledge workers being most affected,” Seth said. “Unlike earlier waves of automation, this impact is far-reaching and especially serious for young populations in regions like India, Africa, and Latin America.”
However, Seth is quick to clarify that this is not a doomsday scenario. “AI will also enable us to tackle some of the world’s most difficult problems, such as cancer and even climate change,” he said. “Every industry will face disruption, and this creates fertile ground for entrepreneurs. I truly believe we are transitioning from the era of jobs to the era of entrepreneurs.”
He further explained that while job displacement fears are valid, they should not paralyse society. Instead, there is a need for empowerment. “My book is an attempt to move the conversation from anxiety to action. We need to ask: what are the uniquely human strengths that AI cannot replace?”
Seth highlighted timeless traits such as creativity, problem-solving, resilience, and leadership—qualities that will remain essential even in an AI-dominated future. “The fast-changing world ahead will demand that we reconnect with the pioneering spirit of early humans,” he said. “Decades of industrialisation have numbed our instincts. We need to rediscover boldness and embrace risk-taking to define our coexistence with AI—on our terms, not as its subjects.”
In his vision, AI is not an end but a new beginning—one that challenges humanity to evolve alongside it, with renewed purpose and imagination.
