Adivi Sesh Revives 90s Hit ‘Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast’ in ‘Dakait’

Mumbai: The iconic 90s song ‘Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast’ from the 1994 film ‘Mohra’ remains etched in the memories of many, having been a staple at parties and weddings. Now, actor and writer Adivi Sesh is set to bring this classic number back to the audience through his upcoming film ‘Dakait’.

Speaking about the song’s inclusion, Adivi Sesh shared, “Including this song in the film is both a creative choice and holds personal emotional significance for me. This song was very special during my childhood. I performed my first school dance on this very track, and those memories are still very dear to me. That’s why, when I started working on the teaser for my new film, I felt this song would be a perfect fit.”

Adivi Sesh ensured that all legal rights for using the song were properly secured. He added, “For me, this is not just a decision but a way to revive childhood memories. Some songs become a part of our identity, and ‘Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast’ has always been such a song for me. It was heard everywhere in the 1990s.”

He further clarified that the song’s inclusion was not merely to follow a trend or novelty but to genuinely connect the audience with nostalgic moments through the film.

‘Dakait’ features Adivi Sesh alongside Mrunal Thakur, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zain Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Lai in pivotal roles. The story revolves around an angry prisoner who plans revenge against his deceitful ex-girlfriend. The narrative unfolds with emotions of love, betrayal, and vengeance intertwined in a gripping manner.

The film has been shot in both Hindi and Telugu and is scheduled for a worldwide release on 19 March, coinciding with Eid.
