Adinath Kothare Takes on Challenging Role in Nai Naveli
Adinath Kothare shares insights on his demanding role as Raja Awasthi in Nai Naveli, co-starring Yami Gautam.

Mumbai, October 20 (Daily Kiran) : Adinath Kothare stars as Raja Awasthi in the upcoming film “Nai Naveli,” alongside Yami Gautam. He describes this role as one of his most challenging to date. The actor expressed that landing a character with such diverse shades feels like a dream for any performer.
Kothare explained, “In this film, I portray Raja Awasthi, and two aspects of the character are truly remarkable. This role is particularly demanding due to its transformative nature. When the character undergoes a change, it becomes even more complex. The preparation involved extensive use of prosthetics and heavy makeup, taking about four and a half hours to complete. We also filmed action scenes in May, during a period of intense heat. The body suit was made of silicone. Despite the challenges of wearing it, we had to convey emotions, perform, and execute action sequences. This has been one of my most difficult roles, both physically and emotionally.”
The storyline captivated Kothare so much that he felt compelled to join the project. He recounted how he received a call from Mukesh Chhabra while working on a television show. “He asked me what I was doing in April, and I knew I would be busy. However, when Mukesh calls, I never say I’m busy. So, I took a risk and replied, ‘I’m available, Mukesh sir. Just tell me what to do.’”
He elaborated that Chhabra informed him about a fantasy comedy film directed by Aanand L. Rai, featuring Yami Gautam as his co-star. After a brief discussion about the character, Kothare assured Chhabra, “I can manage, sir.” He then met with Aanand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma, who shared insights about the film’s story, its world, and his character, Raja Awasthi. The dialogues and screenplay were crafted by Divya Nidhi Sharma, while the story was penned by Himanshu Sharma. Kothare was impressed by the narrative and felt he could not pass up the opportunity to be part of such a significant project.
