Ahmedabad, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : Adani Group has officially renewed its partnership with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) as the main sponsor, extending support for Team India at the upcoming Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. This partnership will cover the games scheduled from September 19 to October 4, 2026, and will continue beyond the continental event.
The collaboration also supported the Indian contingent during the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2026, where the team achieved remarkable success, securing 39 medals, including 13 gold, 17 silver, and 9 bronze.
As India prepares to host the Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad in 2030 and aims for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2036, the renewal of Adani Group’s partnership with the IOA is particularly significant.
PT Usha, the president of IOA and a former Olympian, welcomed the continuation of this association, highlighting the importance of institutional support for Indian athletes as they prepare for major international competitions. She stated, “India’s performance at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow showcases our athletes’ talent and growing strength. We are grateful to Adani Group for continuing their association with the Indian Olympic Association. Such collaboration is essential for our athletes to prepare and compete effectively for the upcoming Asian Games and Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad in 2030. We hope to see this partnership flourish as Indian sports continue to advance.”
Adani Group emphasized its commitment to sports through various initiatives, including grassroots programs, athlete support, community engagement, and professional sports. Their “Pride” initiative has been instrumental in supporting Indian athletes, while their grassroots academy focuses on nurturing talent across multiple sports.
Additionally, the group supports fitness initiatives and large-scale community participation through events like the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon, which will hold its 10th edition on November 29. By enhancing its role as the principal sponsor of the Indian Olympic Association, Adani Group is further solidifying its involvement in the development of sports in India.
