Saksham Dayma discusses his experiences with co-stars Kareena Kapoor and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the film Daira, highlighting their humility.
Mumbai, September 27 (Daily Kiran) : Saksham Dayma is garnering praise for his role as Inspector Ibrahim Ansari in the film “Daira.” In a recent interview, he shared his experiences working alongside stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Dayma expressed that collaborating with both actors was a continuous learning experience, emphasizing that they never made him feel like he was working with major stars.
He noted, “Every day working with them was a unique learning experience. The best part was that neither of them displayed any arrogance about their stardom. The atmosphere on set was very relaxed and collaborative, allowing me to focus on my work and grow as an actor.”
Dayma praised Prithviraj Sukumaran’s strong screen presence, stating that he learned a lot by being in scenes with him. “He is a director himself, so he is very attentive to the nuances of each scene. Whether it’s dialogue, situation, or the emotion of the moment, he pays attention to everything. He is also very warm and considerate towards everyone around him.”
He also recounted a challenging experience while shooting an action sequence for the film. “The encounter sequence was filmed in Palghar in December. For the rain scenes, we had about 10-12 water tankers on set. Shooting in the pouring rain on a cold night was tough for the entire team.”
Dayma described the cold night, saying, “We were shooting drenched in the open field. After every take, we were shivering. Prithviraj had no shots at that time, yet he chose to stay with us throughout. That moment made me realize that a big star isn’t just defined by their stardom; it’s also about how you treat those around you.”
He also commended Kareena Kapoor Khan’s work ethic, stating, “She is an incredible actress. Behind her effortless acting lies rigorous preparation. Even in scenes with fewer dialogues, there’s so much happening in her performance.”
Reflecting on his character, Inspector Ibrahim Ansari, Dayma said, “Ibrahim is someone who is fully committed to his team and has complete trust in Raman. He genuinely believes he is fulfilling his duty and protecting society. Portraying a character with such strong convictions was a fascinating experience for me.”
“Daira,” directed by Meghna Gulzar, features Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in significant roles. The film was released in theaters on September 18.
