Abhay Deol Shares Fun Anecdote from Dev D as Film Re-releases

Mumbai, April 24: Actor Abhay Deol’s film ‘Dev D’ has made its way back to theaters. In light of this re-release, he shared an amusing story related to the film with his fans. He revealed that there was a scene where he had no dialogues at all.

Abhay Deol posted a video on Instagram featuring a memorable scene from ‘Dev D.’ He explained how he managed to immortalize his character on screen without uttering a single word. He wrote, “When she said she was from Delhi, I replied, ‘I’m from here too.’”

He further elaborated that ‘Dev D’ is not a dialogue-heavy film by design. In that particular scene, his character stood silently while the actress Parakh conversed with Dev. Abhay mentioned, “I let my character take over and helped him express those words. When the director called ‘cut’ and came over to hug me, it was an incredible experience.”

The director asked, “How did you incorporate every element of the room into the scene and make it look so casual?” Abhay Deol expressed his delight at receiving such praise. He noted that the scene was completed in just one take. Abhay added, “Dev had found his voice, and I got lost in it. This post is special because ‘Dev D’ is once again hitting the screens at PVR cinemas.”

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, this film was originally released in 2009 and remains popular among youth today. Abhay Deol portrayed the character of Dev, while Parakh, Mahi Gill, and Kalki Koechlin played significant roles.

‘Dev D’ is a modern retelling of the classic tale of Devdas. The film uniquely showcases themes of love, friendship, addiction, and the realities of life. Abhay Deol’s performance and the film’s distinctive style continue to resonate with audiences.
