New Delhi, Apr 8 : Former Amnesty International India Chief Aakar Patel on Friday filed a contempt petition against the CBI saying he was not allowed to leave the country once again despite an order of the court. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed revision petition against the order of the court which directed the agency to withdraw a Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against Patel. Patel filed a contempt petition against the Investigating Officer of the CBI for non-compliance of the February 7 order of the court. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Pawan Kumar directed the agency to withdraw the LOC issued against Patel immediately with a written apology to Patel. Counsel for Patel submitted through his petition that Patel was again stopped on Thursday night from boarding a flight. Patel has sought to the US for a lecture series organised by various versities till May 30. XC MR
