New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of schemes worth Rs 3,650 crore in Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur on Wednesday. He will also inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bilaspur. He had laid the foundation stone of Bilaspur AIIMS five years ago. About Rs 1470 crore has been spent on its construction. The Prime Minister will also attend the celebrations of the world famous Kullu Dussehra.
During his visit to Himachal Pradesh, the Prime Minister will virtually lay the foundation stone of the project to four-laning the 31 km long National Highway from Pijore to Nalagarh. Its cost is about Rs 1690 crore. The project is a major route for Ambala, Chandigarh, Panchkula and Solan, Shimla to Bilaspur, Mandi and Manali. This will also boost tourism in the state. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for a medical device park to be built at Nalagarh at a cost of about Rs 350 crore. Will inaugurate Hydro Engineering College at Bandla in Bilaspur district. About Rs 140 crore has been spent on this.
Prime Minister Modi will also attend the Kullu Dussehra celebrations. International Kullu Dussehra Festival has started from 5th October at Dhalpur Maidan. It will end on October 11. This festival is unique because there is a gathering of more than 300 deities of the valley. On the first day of the festival all the deities in their decorated palanquins worship the main deity Lord Raghunath ji in the temple. After this again they leave for Dhalpur ground. In the historic Kullu Dussehra celebrations, this time the Prime Minister will witness the Divya Rath Yatra and the grand assembly of the deities. This will be the first time that the Prime Minister of the country will participate in the Kullu Dussehra celebrations.
