But some unscrupulous people are taking advantage of this opportunity. Taking advantage of the occasion of the puja, allegations of spreading fake notes of ₹2000 in the market were heard on Saturday.

According to sources, the incident occured at Debra of Paschim Medinipur district in West Bengal. Two traders of Debra market found two notes of ₹2000 with the same number. The matter came to light through mutual conversation. Traders believe that fraudsters are taking advantage of the rush in shops during the puja. The traders have demanded a police inquiry into the matter.

A merchant said, ””A gentleman came to my shop for tea at about eight in the morning. His bill was about two hundred and fifty rupees. He took out a ₹2000 note and gave it to me. I felt fine after seeing the note. After that he went to Kolkata.”” ””Then in the afternoon a friend of mine came to my shop and told me that he had found a fake note of ₹2000. I wanted to see the note then.

After that I took out my note and matched the numbers of both. Both the notes had the same number. That”s when I realized that fake notes are being circulated in the market during the puja. I demand the administration to investigate the matter.”” he added.
