SDM, CO, Tehsildar should remain at posting site during night: Yogi

Lucknow, April 18 : Putting an end on the tendency of officers posted at town level returning to district headquarters after performing their duties in the day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDM), Circle Officers (CO), Tehsildars and others to stay at the point of their posting during night. Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office informed that as per the directives issued by the Chief Minister, the SDM, Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar and CO have been asked not to come to district headquarters during night without any valid reason. In the directives issued by the Chief Minister, it has been stated that when the officers will remain present at the point of posting, then problems of people of that area will reach them immediately and speedy disposal could be ensured. It has been stated that in case of unavailability of government accommodation, the officers and employees posted in town should arrange for a rented accommodation, so that they can remain at their point of posting. Besides, it has been directed that complaints received at police station, block or tehsil levels should be disposed of there itself and they should not come up to the government level. The Chief Minister issued the directives after receiving public complaints from people during the Janata Darshan programme, which he said, could have been resolved at Tehsil, block or police station level.
