Los Angeles, April 5 : Pop star Britney Spears has announced she is in the process of writing a new memoir to address the painful events in her life. Sharing the news on Instagram on Monday, Spears said, “I’m writing a book at the moment and as it’s actually healing and therapeutic … it’s also hard bringing up past events in my life I’ve never been able to express openly.” According to BBC, a judge in November last year had ended a legal guardianship that controlled many aspects of the ‘Toxic’ singer’s life for over a decade. She was put under a conservatorship managed by her father, Jamie Spears, in 2008 as she faced mental health crisis. As per the arrangement, her father had the power over the singer’s finances and career decisions and major personal matters, including visit to her teenage sons and whether she could remarry. In her latest post, Spears said, “I can only imagine that I do sound childish but I was extremely young when the events took place. “But instead of using my heart, I’m using the intellectual approach as Justin did when he apologized to Janet and me. Although he was never bullied or threatened by his family, he took the opport ty to apologize 20 years later!!! Timing is EVERYTHING!!!” According to US Weekly, her post refers to a February 2021 statement from the former ‘NSync member, 41, responding to the backlash he received following the release of the documentary The New York Times Presents: ‘Framing Britney Spears’.
