Hyderabad, March 6 : The budget session of both the Houses of Telangana Legislature (Assembly and Council) will begin from Monday. The session will commence without the customary Governor’s address to the joint sitting of both the houses. Necessary arrangements are put in place for the smooth conduct of the session with the presiding officers of both the houses (Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Council protem Chairman Syed Hasan Jafri) holding talks with the officials on the arrangements made at the Assembly premises, on Sunday. The meeting was attended by, among others, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and Director General of Police Mahender Reddy. Police beefed up security arrangements around the sprawling Assembly complex in view of the session. The Speaker advised the people attending the session to strictly follow the COVID protocol. Finance Minister T Harish Rao will present the 2022-23 state budget on the opening day of the session. The state Cabinet will approve the budget later in the day. The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will meet after the end of the first day’s session to decide about the duration and agenda of the session. SMS CS1638
