Residents take out Aakrosh rally, demand death sentence for raping five year old in Banwara

Udaipur : Protests and agitations continued on friday in Banswara city as hundreds of people took out a massive rally demanding death sentence for the two accused who raped a five year old kid in Anandpuri area. The protest was led by Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad and various voluntary organisations which raised slogans against poor law and order condition.

Hundreds of girls from private and government schools and colleges participated in the rally which began from Govt GuruGovind Singh college and culminated at the collectorate. Protesters said the police machinery is a failure since the accused are yet at large and the cops have failed to arrest them even after four days. Students demanded the culprits to be handed over to the public so that they could be taught a strict lesson for the heinous crime they committed. Police authorities had a tough time assuring people of a speedy probe and arrest. Residents claimed if the accused were not arrested by Monday, ‘ Banswara Bandh’ call would be made.

The rape incident that had taken place on Monday had shook the entire city. Two men had gone to the rape survivor’s home where she was playing with her 10 year old brother. Their father worked in Ahmedabad while mother had gone to work in nearby field. The accused sent the boy to fetch water and sexually abused the little girl leaving her in a critical condition. The girl was admitted in Mahatma Gandhi hospital past midnight after police was informed, the medical examination was held on Wednesday. Sarv Samaj condemned the incident severely and demanded maximum punishment for the accused.
