2 non-locals injured in another targeted attack in Srinagar

Srinagar, April 22 : Two non-local labourers were shot at and injured in yet another targeted attack on Friday evening on Srinagar outskirts, police said. The incident took place at around 7:50 pm in Nowgam area of Srinagar. Police said two labourers – Najamul Islam and Anikul Islam, hailing from West Bengal, were shot in the periphery of Srinagar district on Srinagar-Pulwama-Budgam boundary at Suthsoo Kalan area of Nowgam. “In this terror incident, both the labourers received gunshot injuries and were immediately shifted to hospital for treatment,” a police spokesman said. Police said an operation has been launched to catch the culprits. Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant Sections of law and investigation is in progress. The officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime. In the past few weeks, there has been a series of targeted attacks on non-locals and minority comm ty members. These attacks have left one dead and nine wounded, including eight non-locals and one Kashmir Pandit. MJR RJ
