15-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead Near Police Station in Munger, Bihar

Munger, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : In Munger, Bihar, a 15-year-old boy was shot dead near the Safiyasarai police station on Saturday afternoon, causing panic in the area. The victim, identified as Ishant Kumar, was the son of an e-rickshaw driver named Chandan Kumar and was a student at Town High School.

According to family members, Ishant had gone to school that morning and returned home afterward. Later, his friend Rituraj informed the family that Ishant had been summoned to the electricity office by Niranjan Kumar and Ayush Kumar.

Family members allege that upon Ishant’s arrival at the office, Niranjan Kumar shot him in the head before fleeing the scene. Hearing the gunfire, local residents rushed to the spot and took the injured boy to a private clinic. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to the Sadar Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.

Ishant’s father revealed that approximately two months ago, Ishant and his sister used to attend tuition classes near Lal Ka Chowk in Hasraganj. They claim that Niranjan Kumar and Ayush Kumar had been harassing their daughter on her way to class. After raising objections, the children stopped attending those classes.

Relatives allege that Ishant was called to the electricity office under the pretext of resolving an old dispute but was attacked and shot there.

Following the incident, Munger’s Superintendent of Police, Syed Imran Masood, visited the hospital to meet with the victim’s family. He instructed police officials to investigate the case and apprehend the culprits, assuring that those responsible would not be spared.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Arjun Kumar Gupta also arrived at the scene with a police team. The Forensic Science Laboratory team collected evidence while police interrogated locals and examined the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Investigating officers are looking into the alleged prior dispute and other possible motives. They are also working to determine how many individuals were involved in the incident and the source of the weapon used.

In response to this brazen daytime murder, security has been heightened in the area. Police teams are conducting raids and are actively searching for the suspects to make arrests.
