12 Palestinians injured in Jerusalem clashes

Ramallah, April 4 ( /Sputnik) Twelve Palestinians were injured during clashes with Israeli soldiers in east Jerusalem, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said. The clashes occurred on Sunday in the Bab al-Amud area of east Jerusalem, the Red Crescent said, adding that four of the twelve Palestinians injured in the clashes were hospitalized. Last month, a 16-year-old Palestinian teenager was killed during clashes with Israeli soldiers in the Abu Dis area of east Jerusalem, according to the Palestinian health authorities. Relations between Israel and Palestine have been shattered for decades. Palestinians seek diplomatic recognition for their independent state on the territories of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which is partially occupied by Israel, and the Gaza Strip. /SPUTNIK RNJ
