In her Instagram post, she revealed that her mother was ahead of her time. She lived life on her own terms, facing societal criticism with resilience.
Zeenat shared several pictures and wrote, “My mother was a devout Hindu, but her life choices were quite unconventional for her era. She married a Muslim man (my father), and after their relationship ended, she married a German Protestant. When he passed away, she raised me alone and supported my career from the very beginning.”
She highlighted the controversies and discussions her mother faced due to these interfaith decisions.
The actress stated, “My mother believed that people’s opinions are their own. She taught me that if you have nothing good to say about someone, it’s better to remain silent. I always choose my words carefully because I believe we cannot rise by bringing others down.”
Zeenat added, “These days, I harbor very little hatred in my heart and take unwarranted criticism lightly. Just yesterday, I was discussing my mother’s teachings with a friend, who sent me a wonderful quote.”
She also posed a question to her fans, asking how they respond to baseless criticism.
