Yusuf Pathan Predicts TMC to Secure Over 110 Seats in Bengal Elections

Kolkata, April 24: Former cricketer and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Yusuf Pathan participated in a grand roadshow in Mangalkot, East Bardhaman district, supporting TMC candidate Apurba Chaudhary.

During a media interaction, Pathan shared his views on the first phase of voting, law and order, and the upcoming election results. He described the over 92% voter turnout as a positive sign for democracy, emphasizing that such high participation indicates the public’s awareness and active engagement in their democratic rights.

Pathan expressed concern over incidents of violence and unrest reported in some areas. He labeled these occurrences as unfortunate and stressed that it is the administration’s duty to maintain law and order and ensure a fair investigation into these matters.

He expressed strong confidence regarding the Baharampur and Murshidabad regions, claiming that TMC could win between 20 to all 22 seats in the area. Furthermore, he anticipated victories in all seven assembly constituencies under the Baharampur Lok Sabha seat.

Commenting on the broader electoral landscape of the state, Pathan stated that TMC could secure over 110 seats. He praised Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s leadership and highlighted the state’s development initiatives as a key factor in garnering public support.

The first phase of voting took place on Thursday across 152 seats in West Bengal. Voting for the second phase will occur on April 29 for 142 seats, with results expected to be announced on May 4.
