YSRCP Accuses Andhra Government of Distracting Public from DSC Recruitment Issues

Amaravati, August 14: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has alleged that the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is attempting to divert public attention from irregularities in the District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment process. The party claims that the government is using the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report on the APPSC Group-1 exam irregularities from 2020 to shift focus away from the current recruitment controversy.

YSRCP leaders assert that instead of addressing concerns raised by candidates regarding the DSC recruitment process, the government is resurrecting old issues to gain political advantage. The party has called for a transparent investigation into the allegations related to the DSC recruitment to protect the interests of the candidates.

YSRCP spokesperson Konda Rajiv described the situation as Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s “political drama,” aimed at shielding his son and Education Minister Nara Lokesh from scrutiny over irregularities in teacher recruitment through the DSC.

He alleged that the government hastily initiated a review of the APPSC Group-I case before the assembly session. “They obtained the SIT report and launched a political campaign through ‘yellow media’ to mislead the public,” he stated.

The spokesperson accused the government of trying to destabilize the careers of 163 Group-I officers, despite the SIT finding no discrepancies in candidates’ qualifications, exam conduct, answer sheets, merit lists, or final results.

He noted that the answer sheets were under the custody of the High Court, and the selection of candidates was conducted according to the High Court’s guidelines.

According to the spokesperson, 326 candidates participated in the interviews, many of whom were from IITs and IIMs, with some having also appeared for civil service interviews.

Earlier, another YSRCP spokesperson, Yanamala Nagarjuna Yadav, along with the party’s youth empowerment cell coordinator Salam Babu, stated that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is using the SIT report on Group-I recruitment to distract from irregularities in the mega DSC.

They highlighted that unemployed youth have been protesting against the DSC paper leak and irregularities in the sports quota, asserting that the Group-I issue is being raised to divert public attention and avoid questions during the upcoming assembly session.

The SIT investigating the digital and manual evaluation irregularities of the APPSC Group-I exam found several flaws, including violations of the commission’s own rules. The notification was issued on December 31, 2018, with the preliminary exam held on May 26, 2019, and the main (written) exam conducted in December 2020. The results of the main exam were announced on April 28, 2021, after adopting the digital evaluation process.

The SIT, chaired by DGP (CID) Ravi Shankar Ayyanar, reported that the APPSC initially adopted a digital evaluation process, and the results were declared on April 28, 2021, shortlisting 326 candidates for interviews. The SIT was established under a government order (GO) on February 14, 2026.
