YSR Congress Demands Transparency in Voter List Revision

Amaravati, May 8: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has called for complete transparency in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in Andhra Pradesh.

YSRCP General Secretary and MLC Lella Appi Reddy wrote to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Andhra Pradesh, requesting that recognized political parties be provided with a comprehensive list of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and voter data in a searchable digital format.

Appi Reddy urged the CEO to share constituency-wise and booth-wise voter lists in a digital and searchable format, along with complete details of the BLOs, including their names, polling station or part number, designation, and contact information.

He stated that making such information available would enhance transparency, coordination, and accountability in the electoral process, especially during the revision of voter lists, claims, objections, and verification of migrations.

Expressing concerns over alleged illegal deletions of voters, duplicate entries, and transfers, Appi Reddy sought clarity on the procedures and security measures being adopted during the SIR process. He emphasized that no genuine voter should be deprived of their voting rights without due process. He also demanded full transparency to ensure free and fair elections.

He appealed to the CEO to promptly provide recognized political parties with the relevant digital voter data and a complete list of BLOs across all assembly constituencies in the state.

Appi Reddy sent three separate letters to the CEO. In one letter, he requested that the proposed voter list for the SIR process be made available in a digital format, stating that the voter list forms the foundation of the democratic process. He asserted that any amendments related to voters, including deletions, corrections, or additions, should be conducted in a completely transparent, fair, and accountable manner.

In another letter, the YSRCP leader requested constituency-wise details of BLOs to be shared with recognized political parties for the sake of transparency, smooth coordination, and effective participation in the electoral process. This information should include their names, assigned polling stations or parts, and contact details.

Appi Reddy also requested that the CEO issue instructions to all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to accept Form ID: BLA-2 for the appointment of booth-level agents by the YSR Congress Party.
