YouTuber Salim Vastik Arrested After 25 Years on Murder Charges

New Delhi, April 25: YouTuber Salim Vastik has been arrested by Delhi police in connection with a 31-year-old murder and kidnapping case. He was apprehended in Ghaziabad, where he had been living under a false identity. Police are currently interrogating him at the station.

Authorities revealed that Salim Vastik was wanted for murder and kidnapping. He had been sentenced by a Delhi court but had been on the run for 25 years. Both Delhi and Uttar Pradesh police failed to recognize him until his arrest on Saturday morning in Ghaziabad.

Police officials stated that a case of kidnapping, extortion, and murder had been registered against Salim Khan at the Gokalpuri police station. His real name is Salim Khan, son of Noor Hasan, originally from Nanupura in Shamli. On January 20, 1995, Salim kidnapped 13-year-old Sandeep Bansal from Delhi, demanded ransom, and subsequently murdered him. The case was registered at Gokalpuri police station.

The murder of the 13-year-old boy gained significant media attention at the time. Delhi police arrested Salim and he was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1997. However, he was granted bail three years later in 2000 and vanished immediately after his release. Over the past 25 years, he had been hiding in Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, and Ghaziabad.

Recently, Salim made headlines when he was attacked at his home on February 27, where two brothers stabbed him 14 times. After a month of treatment, his condition improved. The two brothers accused of the attack have since been killed in an encounter.

The now-converted YouTuber Salim Vastik was attacked by masked assailants who entered his office on a motorcycle without a license plate. They attempted to slit his throat before fleeing, leaving him severely injured.
