Patna, February 24: The political climate has intensified following the arrest of Uday Bhanu Chib, the National President of the Indian Youth Congress, by Delhi police. RJD legislator Bhai Virendra expressed his support for the Youth Congress‘s protest at the AI Summit.
In a conversation in Patna, Bhai Virendra stated that there is no mastermind behind the protest. “Protests occur based on the situation, and every party operates according to its policies. I support what happened there, and Congress did nothing wrong,” he affirmed.
Congress legislator Abhishek Ranjan added that it is evident that political opposition is targeting their Youth Congress members, who were merely conducting a normal protest. “They are preparing to file charges of treason against us. Our national president has been arrested. This should not happen in politics,” he said.
On the other hand, RJD legislator Ranvijay Sahu commented on the law and order situation in Bihar, stating that people are increasingly distressed and conditions are spiraling out of control. “It seems like criminals are running the government. The administration is trying to rule through force. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar remains silent. What is happening in Bihar? In Patna, two brothers were brutally murdered, and the police are quiet. Crimes against women are rising, with over 40 reported rapes in the last month alone. Bihar is in a dire state, yet Nitish Kumar remains silent,” he criticized.
Regarding the protests by watchmen and guards, Bhai Virendra noted that they were demonstrating to press for their demands. “However, the police responded with brutal force, injuring many. I demand strict action against those who ordered the lathi charge. The government should also work towards addressing the genuine demands of the watchmen and guards,” he urged.
