
New Delhi, May 20: A shocking incident unfolded in the Welcome area of Delhi’s northeastern district, where a young man was shot dead. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Amanullah Qureshi. Upon receiving the news, police, forensic teams, and crime branch officials rushed to the scene to begin their investigation. The body has been sent to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
According to police reports, gunfire was reported during the night between May 19 and 20 in the Welcome police station area. A police team arrived at the scene near Shyam Lal College, only to find that the injured Amanullah Qureshi, son of Mohammad Tasleem, had already been taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital by his family. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
During the investigation, the forensic team examined the crime scene and collected evidence. The police have registered a case under FIR number 233/26, invoking Section 103(1) BNS and Section 27 of the Arms Act. Multiple teams have been formed to identify and apprehend the suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.
The victim’s father, Tasleem, has made serious allegations regarding the incident. He claims that Salman, along with his mother and brother Akshay Nawad, are involved. Additionally, he mentioned that Salman JD’s family and his brother Kafil are also implicated. Tasleem stated that they had been plotting to kill members of their family and had been receiving constant death threats. He has not filed a formal complaint with the police regarding these threats.
He further expressed his distress, stating that they had received information about their child’s death, and upon arriving at the scene, they confirmed the tragic news. Tasleem expressed full trust in the Delhi police, believing they would provide the necessary assistance, and stated that he harbors no grievances against them.
