Yogi Government Expands Cabinet Amid Promises of a Strong 2027 Majority

Lucknow, May 11: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh expanded its cabinet on Sunday, ahead of the upcoming 2027 assembly elections. Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath of office to six new ministers, while two state ministers were promoted.

NDA leaders have expressed confidence that the government will secure a significant majority in the 2027 elections.

State BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary stated that decisions are made collectively and that the party organization implements these decisions effectively.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya welcomed the expansion, emphasizing their commitment to improving the lives of Uttar Pradesh’s 250 million residents and addressing their needs and aspirations.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak congratulated the new ministers, stating that the new team will work towards realizing Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India.’

Minister Danish Azad Ansari extended his congratulations to the new appointees, highlighting the significant responsibility now resting on their shoulders. He affirmed their dedication to serving the state under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Yogi, focusing on education, security, healthcare, employment, and industry.

Minister Sanjay Nishad remarked that social justice means leadership must be inclusive of all castes, religions, and classes, ensuring everyone receives respect.

Minister Dayashankar Singh noted that efforts have been made to ensure representation for every section of society while maintaining regional balance. The selection of capable individuals for the cabinet was emphasized.

Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma congratulated all newly appointed ministers and wished them success.

Minister Aseem Arun highlighted that the cabinet expansion will enhance participation and representation, with selections based on the ministers’ unique skills and experiences.

Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar pointed out that, constitutionally, Uttar Pradesh should have 60 ministers, and the recent appointments bring them closer to that number.

Minister Narendra Kumar Kashyap described the cabinet expansion as balanced, promoting social equilibrium and accelerating development across the region, thus realizing the dream of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.’

Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna stated that the six ministers who took oath today are part of a ‘double-engine’ government that makes necessary decisions for the overall development of Uttar Pradesh. Once labeled a ‘sick state’ under opposition leadership, the state is now emerging as a progressive entity under PM Modi’s guidance and CM Yogi’s leadership.
