
Lucknow, February 22: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has described the inauguration of the ‘Namoh Bharat’ rapid rail and Meerut Metro corridor between Delhi and Meerut as a golden chapter in the development journey of New Uttar Pradesh. He also shared his thoughts on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Meerut.
In a post on the social media platform X, Chief Minister Adityanath wrote, “Today marks the addition of a golden chapter to the development journey of New Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the ‘Meerut Metro’ and the ‘Namoh Bharat’ train in the revolutionary land of Meerut, accelerating the development journey of ‘New Uttar Pradesh’. Additionally, Meerut will witness the launch of various development and public welfare projects worth approximately ₹12,930 crores.”
Welcoming the Prime Minister’s arrival in Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi stated in his X post, “Prime Minister Modi will dedicate the 82 km long Delhi-Meerut Namoh Bharat corridor to the nation while inaugurating the remaining sections of the RRTS. This initiative will set a new benchmark for integrated urban and regional transport.”
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Seth also welcomed Prime Minister Modi‘s visit to Meerut. He mentioned in a post on X, “On February 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 82 km long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namoh Bharat rapid rail corridor and launch the Meerut Metro corridor. This historic initiative will significantly reduce travel time between Delhi and Meerut, providing a new impetus to regional economic integration, trade, investment, and job opportunities.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi expressed his commitment to the rapid expansion of rail connectivity across the country, including Uttar Pradesh. In a post on X, he stated, “I am fortunate to inaugurate the fastest Meerut Metro and Namoh Bharat train in Meerut around 12:30 PM on Sunday. Following this, I will dedicate the Namoh Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System’s remaining sections and the Delhi-Meerut Namoh Bharat corridor to the nation. This occasion will also provide an opportunity to launch several development projects.”
