
New Chandigarh, April 28: In the 40th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a remarkable 51 runs against Punjab Kings. This performance elevated him to second place on the list of players with the most half-centuries for RR in IPL history.
Playing at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Jaiswal hit 51 runs off just 27 balls, including one six and seven fours. He formed a solid partnership with Vaibhav Suryaansh, accumulating 51 runs in just 3.2 overs.
In terms of half-centuries for Rajasthan Royals, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson jointly hold the top spot. Buttler has achieved 25 half-centuries in 82 innings, while Samson has matched this feat in 144 innings.
Ajinkya Rahane ranks third with 19 half-centuries from 93 innings, followed by Shane Watson, who has 16 half-centuries in 76 innings.
In this match, Punjab Kings scored 222 runs, losing four wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Marcus Stoinis played a standout innings, scoring an unbeaten 62 runs off 22 balls, featuring six sixes and four fours. Prabhsimran Singh contributed 59 runs off 44 balls, while both Cooper Connolly and captain Shreyas Iyer added 30 runs each.
At one point, Punjab Kings had scored 181 runs for four wickets in 18 overs. Stoinis then partnered with Suryaansh Shegde to add an impressive 41 runs for the fifth wicket in just 12 balls, propelling the team to a formidable total.
From the opposition, Yash Raj took the most wickets, claiming two for 41 runs, while Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger each took one wicket.
