Xiaomi 17 Series Fuels Record Sales

Xiaomi President Lu Weibing revealed that cumulative sales of the Xiaomi 17 series have surpassed 1 million units within days of launch — around 20% higher than the previous generation’s early performance.

Industry insider Digital Chat Station reported that the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and Xiaomi 17 Pro have been the main growth drivers, with combined sales exceeding 800,000 units. In contrast, the standard Xiaomi 17 recorded modest figures of around 194,000 units.

Dual-Screen Innovation Key to Success

A major selling point behind the Pro lineup’s popularity is its innovative dual-screen design. Lu Weibing disclosed that Xiaomi invested nearly 1 billion yuan in developing this technology, calling it one of the company’s most ambitious hardware projects yet. He added that while competitors might imitate the design, few would be willing to make such a costly investment.

Global Availability Expected in 2026

While Xiaomi’s new flagships are dominating in China, global availability remains limited. The Xiaomi 17 Pro is expected to remain exclusive to China, with international versions of the Xiaomi 17 series expected to launch next year.
