Beijing – Xiaomi has unveiled a stylish new variant of its Mijia cordless hair straightening brush, now available in an elegant “Cloud Purple” color. Previously offered only in white, the upgraded design combines portability, safety, and functionality—making it an ideal travel companion for those who need on-the-go styling solutions. Priced at 299 yuan (approx. $42), the device is currently being sold in China through the Xiaomi Youpin platform.

Designed for Daily Convenience and Travel

The Mijia cordless straightening brush is crafted with mobility in mind. Weighing just 269 grams, it is light enough to be easily carried in handbags, backpacks, or travel kits. To enhance travel safety, Xiaomi has included a dedicated flight mode, allowing users to safely pack the device in their carry-on luggage. A travel lock switch is also present to prevent accidental activation during transit.

Battery Life and Charging Efficiency

The device is powered by two 3200mAh batteries connected in series, offering excellent performance for its size. On a full charge, it can handle three to four complete styling sessions—ideal for medium to long hair. Short hair may benefit from up to four full uses per charge. The straightener supports USB Type-C charging, requiring about three hours to reach full capacity using a 5V 3A charger.

Smart Heating with Ceramic Technology

Xiaomi has equipped the brush with three adjustable temperature settings: 160°C, 180°C, and 200°C, suitable for different hair types and styling needs. The MCH ceramic heating element ensures fast, even, and stable heat distribution across the comb surface. Additionally, ceramic-coated teeth help prevent direct heat damage while giving hair a sleek and shiny finish. The insulated outer shell adds an extra layer of safety by minimizing the risk of burns.

Negative Ion Technology for Frizz-Free Hair

To further improve hair texture, the brush features six negative ion outlets that, according to Xiaomi, release millions of negative ions per cubic centimeter. These ions help reduce frizz and smoothen hair strands, though performance may vary depending on environmental humidity and hair conditions.

The device includes a 30-minute automatic shutoff feature, supported by NTC thermal protection, ensuring energy efficiency and user safety during prolonged use.
