Hisar, March 27 : Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said the new research work being done by scientists in the field of animal husbandry, specially in the field of preparing new varieties of buffaloes, will benefit the livestock farmers and the farmers of the country at large. Addressing a press conference here, he said that scientists have done research on a large scale with regard to cloning and increasing milk production in the last 6-7 years and they have been successful in it. “We have asked the scientists to try this experiment outside the lab, so that the people, especially the livestock farmers, can get maximum benefit like good quantity of milk from buffaloes. This would encourage the White Revolution as well as strengthen the economic condition of the cattle rearers,” adde the Chief Minister. Responding to a query regarding the construction of runway at Hisar airport, he said the work would be completed soon. After this, the flight schedule would be prepared. Pilot training, aeronautics projects and defense projects would be started at the airport soon. The decision would be taken, once the feasibility check of the airport elevated road is done, he added. The Chief Minister said that the play Dastan-e-Rohnat was organised in the series of programmes under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The play revolves around the turn of events that took place 167 years ago regarding 1857 and were poignantly staged. About 500 people from Rohnat participated in it. As per Khattar, he has been the Finance Minister for the last three years and has been presenting the budget. By way of this programme, he has also been able to make people aware about the key points of budget. He made announcement for Rohnat during this event, wherein an academy would be made and memorials would be built there. Further, to take care of health of the people, Rohnat Trust has been set up at a cost of Rs one crore. The Chief Minister said that about Rs 50 crore has been announced in Mangali Gaushala, through which 12 development projects of Nalwa area would be completed. In a query, the Chief Minister said that Soil Health Cards have been made for the land of 86 lakh farmers of the state. Parameters are mentioned on this card and farmers have been informed in detail about which crop they should plant on the particular land for maximum benefits. He said the economic progress, inflation etc doubles every 5-6 years. He shared that the practice of illegal colonies has been done away with by closing the registry. Under the Housing for All Department, one lakh houses will be built under Deendayal Upadhyay’s new scheme. Different schemes are being run by the government to assist the poor man. Replying to another question, Khattar said that there is no three per cent quota for sports persons in Category A to C. Players can also get more jobs under the government’s Padak Lao, Padd Pao policy. He said that there were some complaints in the gradation certificate in D group, so to eliminate them, it has been decided to give jobs on the basis of achievements. He said that medical colleges were being built in every district to provide better health benefits to the people. This year also, announcement has been made to open four medical colleges. These include Panchkula, Fatehabad, Charki Dadri and Palwal. It has been made mandatory for MBBS students to take bonds in government jobs, added the Chief Minister. In response to another question, Khattar said, “We are in favour of giving equal representation of women in m cipal elections. The matter is to be heard in the court on March 29 and the decision will be pronounced thereafter. Apart from this, the crop season will also be over and elections will be held soon.” DB RJ
