Varanasi : According to authorities, a case has been filed against four persons, including a doctor, in connection with the death of a 22-year-old rape victim undergoing a forced abortion. They described the suspects as a 28-year-old driver, his companion, a senior administrator of a private hospital, and a doctor.
Suryakant Tripathi, Superintendent of Police (Rural), claimed the woman died on Friday while having a forced abortion. According to authorities, the woman was studying at her uncle’s home when she encountered a driver who reportedly raped her.
They claim that after five months of pregnancy, the accused took the victim to a private hospital for an abortion under the guise of providing her medicine. According to police, the main culprit and the senior official of hospital were detained based on a complaint filed by the woman’s uncle. The SP stated that efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining two suspects. He stated that the body had been sent for a post-mortem examination.
