West Bengals 7th Pay Commission Dismisses Social Media Rumors, New Website Coming Soon

Kolkata, August 10: The West Bengal 7th Pay Commission has officially dismissed rumors circulating on social media regarding alleged recommendations made by the commission. These rumors were based on fake documents claiming to represent the commission’s findings.

In a press release, the commission clarified that a fraudulent document purporting to be from the West Bengal 7th Pay Commission is being circulated online. The information presented in this document is baseless and misleading, potentially causing confusion among the public.

The commission stated that it has recently commenced its work, with its first meeting held at Nabanna. No recommendations have been made during this initial meeting.

As a result, the commission urged the public to rely on official sources for accurate information related to the 7th Pay Commission.

Additionally, the commission announced plans to launch a website in the near future. This platform will provide the public with official information, including notices inviting suggestions, collected data, and other essential details.

Furthermore, discussions regarding salary increases for central government employees are ongoing with the 8th Pay Commission. During these meetings, employee organizations are expected to raise issues related to salary revisions, pensions, allowances, fitment factors, promotions, career progression, and service conditions.

The commission noted that the meetings scheduled for August are part of an ongoing consultation process. Similar meetings will also be held in other states and union territories in the coming months, in addition to Delhi.

Recently, consultations were conducted in Kolkata on July 9 and 10 with various stakeholders. Following the meetings in Delhi, the commission will continue its consultation process nationwide. The next phase is set for September 7 and 8 in Chennai and September 9 in Puducherry.
